Walking this faith journey as Gen Z can be downright confusing. Sometimes poetic and emotionally stirred sermons only go so far when I need a direct answer to a perplexing thought. Looking into the Bible for clarity can sometimes seem even more daunting. So let's take a moment, speak plainly, and give answers to the most relative topics for everyone who is saying “Hey, I got questions”
In many ways, we can feel like the sum of our experiences. Our relationships, physical interactions, and even the media we consume have a way of mixing into how we think and feel. Sometimes we go from one thing to the next without realizing the lasting impact of each one. As we develop into the people God desires us to be, let’s discover how to prevent and overcome all the negative influences that can get in the mix.
Each new year we are gifted with 525 thousand minutes. Unfortunately, those moments seem to go so fast. Sometimes it seems like there are not enough of them when life gets busy. Many of them go wasted on mind-numbing apps and activities. Many of them can feel unfulfilled. How we prioritize our minutes makes all the difference. As we start this new year, let's discover, how with God we can make every moment matter and even enjoy the sound of the clock going Tik Tok.
Culture is constantly trying to reprioritize what matters most. The media and our peers may be openly trying to cancel the significance of Christ in Christmas, but maybe we are falling into the same cycle without even knowing it. By placing a higher importance on things that don’t matter most, it’s like we are accidentally canceling Christmas without realizing it.
Our emotions are the most complicated and mysterious parts of us. Some we love, some we hate. Some make us feel great, while others we are embarrassed by. However, when we understand that God can use and speak through every single emotion, it changes how we view them. Let’s discover how God can grow and heal us when we decide to take a brave look at ALL THE FEELS.
